“At long last, the journey you were destined to take has begun.”

Sarah Ban Breathnach

I believe that we each have a special calling in this life.

None of us were created or came to Earth without a calling.

My life’s calling is to be a writer. Not just writing words that move the eyes, but that change the heart.

Even before I could hold a pen I have been writing.

I think my baby bottle was accidentally filled with ink! I am always ready to write a poem, talk, sermon, or story. I’ve written many newspaper columns and live and write by the motto,

"I Ink I can, I Ink I can."

And over the years I have continued to “Choose the Write!” in whatever I do.

That has included many types of typing.

Whether witty or serious I began writing for fun and the challenge of creating something new to share with the world.

My first magnum opus was in 6th grade.

I wrote a parody of the historic and hysterical TV sitcom, The People's Court. It was a hit!

As I matured through life, so did my writing.

I still wrote the occasional college comedy paper, like “The Dog Really Did Eat My Homework”, or the infamous “Green Eggs and Hamlet” poem.

But I began to be more focused and aware that I could do greater things with my words, maybe even change someone's life for the better.

Since then I have not stopped writing or striving to inspire.

In fact, if it wasn’t for smartphones and laptops, I would be largely responsible for the increased destruction of the rainforest to make more paper!

Thankfully, now I have the technology to help make writing much more efficient. This has no doubt saved millions of trees! Though, for nostalgia’s sake, I still love to pick up a pen and write. Sometimes inspiration needs to be written the old fashioned way to really bring the words to life.

Nevertheless, whether with a pen or a laptop, I love writing and feel it's taking me to people and places where God needs me to be.

I thank God daily for the talents he has blessed me with and for giving me the opportunity to make a difference through written words. He has faithfully filled my pen with power and daily filled my heart’s well with the ink of inspiration.

No matter what I write, one thing is certain, my words bring encouragement and entertainment to all who have read my writings.

I pray that there will be no question when I write my last epistle and finally lay my pen to rest as to whether or not I have written my very best.

To mine own self and my writings and my readers, I have always striven to be true and so shall I continue!

For now, I finally have the opportunity to take my writing to another level through this wonderful platform.

This is not a place to showcase my writings but to show you that even when life gets dark and dreary, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and a leading, guiding light inside of you, too.

I hope my words will help you let it shine, encourage and comfort you, and that you will always believe in yourself and your dreams.

I yearn to prove that the pen is mightier than the sword, especially when it is filled with ink.

I hope you will join me on this inspirational journey!
