[Matthew 6:13] “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:5-14) isn’t just a powerful proposal
It is a protector and a divine blueprint on how to build a foundation of faith that will fortify and help us endure, overcome, and even to prevent many other “evils” and trials in our lives. As we seek, find, read and follow the words of Christ, they really will keep us from, lead us away from and out of the temptations and the evils which surround us in today’s world.
Yet, how often do we lead ourselves into temptation
We pray that the Lord will not lead us into temptation, and yet we continue to allow the devil to do so as we invite him into our hearts and homes through our thoughts, desires and actions. We allow technology to be the vile vehicle the devil uses not just to lead us into temptation, but with the power at our very fingertips lead him into our lives, and invite him to provide evil instantly for us with the push of a button, or touch of a screen.
We are delivered from evil as we live God’s words, not just speak them
As it should be with each of our prayers, there is a time to get up off of our knees and be a part of the solution our souls are petitioning for. As we become a partner with Christ, He will inspire us and provide all we need to both protect ourselves and also to be delivered as we do our part to stay delivered by not continuing to invite evil into our minds, hearts, and any longer.
